Text Box: Notice . . .

GCWGA has approved a local rule allowing the use of distance measuring devices for 2007 whether it is printed on the local rule sheet or not. However, the use of devices that measure other conditions that might effect a player’s play (e.g.: wind or gradient) is not permitted.

This has been added to the GCWGA Playing Rules
Text Box: EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL (ESC)

All scores for handicap purposes, including tournament scores, are subject to the application of Equitable Stroke Control (ESC). This mandatory procedure reduces high hole scores for handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player's potential ability.
A handicap determined from scores to which ESC has not been applied may not be termed a Handicap Index.
ESC is used when a player's actual or most likely score exceeds a maximum number, based on the table below, for the player's Course Handicap from the tees played.

Adjusting Your Score

The USGA introduced a simple, straightforward, and easy-to-remember procedure to adjust scores under Equitable Stroke Control.

Equitable Stroke Control sets a maximum number that a player can post on any hole depending on the player's Course Handicap.

What's up girl, just want to drop a few lines to say hello to you and the gang.  I am half way through this ordeal, fighting "The War on Terrorism".  It's has been a long road, but it's helps to be able to check the status of the girls on the GCWGA website.  Tell everyone I said hello, and that I really miss them. Getting through the holidays was hard,  now we are on the down hill side of things, we should be home before the last of July '08.
