Mississippi Gulf Coast Women’s Golf Association (GCWGA) Minutes –DECEMBER 8, 2009

President, Janice Preble called the meeting to order at 11:50 a.m. The meeting was held at PASS CHRISTIAN ISLES GOLF CLUB.
President, Janice Preble called for the Election of Officers for next year. Nominated are: Amy Swint, Julie Hudson, Darlene Santelli and Carol Laux. Janice called three times for any nomination from the floor. J. J. Skinner made a motion to close the nomination and Carol Laux seconded. Ballots were given out.
President, Janice Preble welcomes and thanked players for coming to the Christmas Party in all the rain. “We have had a great year this year until today. We have had record participation and events, for the most part, ran smoothly.
This year we re-named the senior medallist trophy the Irene Flavian Award. This year’s recipients are Pat Ray and myself. We are both so proud.
Our 2009 Gulf Coast Ladies champion is Deborah Williams from Gulf Hills – Net champion is Pat Ray from Sunkist.
I would like to thank all of you for playing this year, thanks you Julie Hudson and officers for making my job easy, and thank you delegates for all your help.

Motion made by J. J. Skinner, seconded by Diane Ackerman, to dispense with reading of the September 2009, minutes. Motion carried.
The Treasurer report was given by Carol Laux. GCWGA beginning balance as of January 1st, 2009 was $288.05. Deposits of dues $2,895.00, and $3840.00 for the 3-day tournament have been made, and expenses 3-day tournament – lunch and golf: $3,671.60 Prizes: 3-day $1,162.55, closest to the pin for the year $240.00, and points $875.00. Ending balance as of December 1, 2009 is $440.87. Motion made by Brenda Cuevas, seconded by Amy Swint to accept the Treasurer report.
Old Business: Janice introduced Jennifer Burke, the manger at PCI, and thanked her for the lovely luncheon that they put on. New Business: January 11th for the meeting at Diamondhead C.C. to work on next year’s schedule.
Julie Hudson gave out gift cards for points for 2009. Pat Ray was the high point winner for this year with 46 points. There were a total of 51 members paid point money for a total of $875.00.
